Want Some Viagra or Pharmaceuticals? GRRR SPAMMERS!! April 23, 2009

The latest virus threat that has been in the news media this month is the Conficker Virus.
With millions of computers infected, Conficker-Infected Systems Started Spewing Massive Spams. As a result there has been a huge increase in spam globally.
Our customers are no different then other host company customers in this regard. To be blunt, we are all getting nailed by this sudden influx of spam, the majority of which appear as Viagra and Pharmaceutical ads.
Here is some more info on this current situation: http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/article/162988/confickerinfected_systems_spew_spam.html

Consumers and hosts alike are completely sick and tired of spam. It is a continuous fight and we fight the good fight. It seems like a long a windy road most difficult to make straight.
But it is not all doom and gloom…
The World’s Biggest Alleged Spammer Was Shut Down in Oct of 2008. Here is details on this: http://www.redorbit.com/news/technology/1588526/worlds_biggest_alleged_spammer_shut_down/
And a web hosting firm (shame on them!) aiding spammers was also shut down:

Just a few “glimmers” of hope to keep us all going.

Server Moves April 17, 2009
Posted by miditech in General Announcements, network news.comments closed
As previously announced, Miditech has added a new Linux server to our cluster of servers.
We will be rearranging some accounts to be moved to the new server to better balance loads and resources across the network to increase performance.
These moves are an internal process of the Hsphere control panel and there should not be any downtime of website, email or database services when we move such customer accounts.
If your ftp suddenly stops working, try checking the FTP user ftp hostname setting in your host control panel to see if it has changed to the new server, which is web03.mywebsitepanel.com. CHange this in your ftp client software and it should work.
If your site is in the middle of a move (a 24 hours process), ftp will be disabled during the content moves and will resume in 24 hours. Contact technical support if you have any questions.
Note: Reseller accounts will NOT be moved until one of our technical support staff contacts the reseller.
Thank you for your patience during this important change.

We all have to deal with email spam. If we do not it will not only waste our valuable time as business people, but it could also lead to nasty viruses that aim to destroy our computers.. and business life!
Miditech has created a document and posted it on our support website to help our customers and to empower them with tools and methods that can help you virtually eliminate spam.
Really you say??? Yes.. really! Knowledge is power!

MIDITECH’s 2008 EXPANSION CONTINUES November 7, 2008

November 6-11th/2008, Miditech is opening a new sales and admin office in Mississauga Ontario. We are adding new staff members over the next few months as well to better serve our customers. It has been a long time coming and with careful planning.
The Mississauga office will be our principle place of business operations and we will also start offering many more services in the months to come, though I will remain quiet on what those are for the moment (competition and all).
With this move there will be a new toll free number. We will obviously also have a billing address changes for those who submit cheque payments (the new address is on our contact page now). Once our toll free number is setup (hopefully Monday or Tuesday) we will send an email notice to our of our customers.
Miditech has been based in London Ontario for 12 years. So why the move to the GTA? Well, we are expanding and we needed a new office to accommodate new staff etc. With 85% of our customers residing in the GTA and the other 15% across Canada and the globe the decision seemed easy and correct.
More information regarding our expansion will be released as we released new products and services. And our customers are gonna love where we are headed for them !
